Career of former apprentices

Three-Tec has been training apprentices for almost 20 years. Whenever possible, our apprentices are kept on after their training. If they want to continue their education after their apprenticeship, we support them, accompany them on their various career paths and offer them development opportunities within the company. From Apprentice to ...

With the help of career guidance and lots of trial apprenticeships, I found the right apprenticeship as a polymechanic and a great training company. At Three-Tec, I was particularly impressed by the family atmosphere and the way all the employees treated each other as equals. After completing my apprenticeship, I continued to work as a polymechanic and completed a degree in industrial engineering at the University of Applied Sciences while working. I then gradually supported the employees in the office. First I helped out in the accounts department and then in sales. I was able to look over the shoulder of the current Managing Director until I was finally able to draw up quotations myself and carry out tests in our test laboratory. I was also able to take on the planning and implementation of trade fair and marketing activities. Finally, I have been working in sales and project management for seven years. I now manage the team of eight employees. The work is still very varied, as we build a lot of customer-specific machines and it never gets boring. I find it very valuable that I have been able to experience many different sides of the company over the years.

Before I started my apprenticeship at Three-Tec, I did a lot of trial apprenticeships, about four of which were as a polymechanic. This was the only place where I did something practical and meaningful, so I decided to do a polymechanic apprenticeship at Three-Tec. Towards the end of my apprenticeship, the previous head of production and current managing director moved more and more into the office, which is why I was constantly taking over his tasks. After my apprenticeship, I became head of production. Shortly afterwards, I completed further training to become a vocational trainer and HF technician. I now manage almost 20 people in our production and also help out in project management and the development of our own products. We have many new developments and the best thing is to see the finished appliances being assembled.

I started my polymechanic apprenticeship at Three-Tec with the aim of learning the basics and then specializing in design engineering later on. During my apprenticeship, however, I realized that design enngineering wasn't my thing and I completed my training with a specialization in CNC milling. Fortunately, the polymechanic apprenticeship offers these diverse opportunities. After completing my apprenticeship, I continued to work as a polymechanic at Three-Tec. As the AVOR team needed support at that time, I then moved more and more into the office. I now work full-time in AVOR (work preparation), where I plan in-house production, procure materials for production and purchase external parts. I am also completing further training to become a qualified process technician HF. I think it's great that I've been able to develop within Three-Tec and that my further training is also supported. We have a great team and it's nice to have a beer together in the evening after work.

Although I initially wanted to do an apprenticeship as a design engineer, I was won over by the versatility of the polymechanic apprenticeship. During the apprenticeship, I was particularly enthusiastic about CNC milling, which is why I completed the apprenticeship with this specialization. Milling is a wonderful thing and never gets boring, especially on our 5-axis milling machine. I'm currently working as a polymechanic at Three-Tec in 80 % and am also completing further training as a mechanical engineering technician with a specialization in production technology. I also attended a vocational training course some time ago. In the future, I would like to lead a team in the workshop and possibly train apprentices myself. I really enjoy working with the people at Three-Tec and appreciate the positive working atmosphere.
